How you can help!
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has been asked to
introduce a Study Bill for a section of the Neches River to be studied for the
potential of becoming a National Wild and Scenic River. We need you
to contact Sen. Hutchison expressing your support and for her to introduce
the Neches River Study Bill.
All you need to say is "I support the Neches River as a Wild and Scenic
River and urge you to introduce the Neches River Study Bill."
Please:
Email from her website http://www.hutchison.senate.gov/ This is easy to do. Click on contact at the bottom of
the page.
Fax Senator Hutchison at 713-209-3459. Or mail to The Honorable Kay Bailey
Hutchison, US Senate, 1919 Smith Street, Suite 800, Houston, TX, 77002.
Call and leave your message with her staff at 713-653-3456.
Reasons why this should be done:
It would protect timber, forest, and wildlife habitat
It would It would protect private property
It would protect our water and our heritage
It would encourage recreation and tourism.
Thank you Michael Banks, Friends of the Neches River, the Texas Conservation Fund, and Billy Hallmon for forwarding this important information.
I encourage BTA members to support this very worthy effort.
Sincerely,
Mary C. Johnston, BTA President
