Native Plant Society Symposium/ Thicket of Diversity (ATBI) Mini-Bioblitz
Held October 16-19, 2008
REPORT:
The Native Plant Society Symposium (NPSOT)/ ATBI Mini-bioblitz was a big success!
- 134 NPSOT registered participants for the 3-day symposium
- approx. 60 participants on the bio-blitz field trips (rare plants, fungi, bryophytes). Other field trips were conducted in the Big Thicket, but were not part of the bioblitz
- 5 Big Thicket National Preserve and ATBI power-point seminars presented by: Maxine Johnston, Linda Brindle, Dale Kruse, Deanna Boensch and Wendy Ledbetter
- 3 new BTA memberships
- $1000 donation to the land fund received
All in all it went very well and was a good opportunity to educate the public about the ATBI project and the Big Thicket. Thanks to everyone who helped with this event!
