This year the annual Big Thicket Day was held in conjunction with the dedication of the new Big Thicket National Preserve headquarters.

Over 300 people attended this event. Featured speakers included: Congressman Brady, John Wessels, Associate Regional Director- National Park Service, Andy Jones, Director- Conservation Fund, Dr. Carl Knight, Eastfield College, Dale Kruse, Thicket of Diversity, Dr. Pete Gunter, Regent's Univ. Professor-University of North Texas, Maxine Johnston, BTA Board of Director.
